In Memory Of The Crew Of
Space Shuttle Columbia

They Made It Home

(Lost In Space)

Half- staff flags once again
Left the world, family and friends.
Nobody knew this final pathway would be trod
On the morning of February first
Slipped from the realms of this earth
Only to touch the face of God.

Seven heroes brave and true
Texas sky beyond the blue
Just as free as an eagle flying high
Sixteen days - now nearly home
Then in a flash they were gone
We bid "Columbia's Crew" a sad good-bye.

Oh, they were "Lost In Space"
Gone forever from this place
But in our hearts a shining mem'ry lingers on
Though detoured while in the air
As we bow our heads in prayer
Lost in space, but rest assured
 "They Made It Home."

The Shuttles Chosen Seven
Now reside in Heroes Heaven
So with the angels let us sing
God gave them a brand new pair of wings
"Lost In Space" but rest assured
"They Made It Home"
