I Remember

I remember the day you were born
The day that I was blessed
Precious and sweet from head to toe
As I held you against my breast.

Pink little cheeks and a rosebud mouth
With two tiny waving fists
Ten tiny fingers and ten tiny toes
By the Angels you'd been kissed.

The time flew by so quickly
As you began to grow
Walking and talking more each day
Was it really that long ago!

Your first day of school you were so proud
So excited you just couldn't wait
With a tear in my eye I waved you good bye
As you went through the school yard gate.

The years went by one by one
And the first thing that I knew
You had grown into a lovely person
My child...I'm so proud of you!
