My Final Flight

I'm gonna take a flight someday
And rise so high, so far away.
Past the moon and stars so bright,
Until I catch an awesome sight.
There I'll see a golden gate
But I'll not knock, my Lord awaits.
When He bids me child to come on in
I'll know I've left this world of sin.

The hurts, the pains, the tears I've shed
Now for me are gone and dead.
Safely in the place that's home
I'll meet the ones that I have known.
Then I'll finally see the face
Of the one who saved me by His grace
I'll thank Him for all He's done
And for sending us His only son.

I'll spread my wings and sail over a sky so blue
And gaze below at the beautiful view.
There will surely be a field of green
With the prettiest flowers you've ever seen.
The air is fresh and crisp and clean
The water pure that flows downstream.
For this is where eternity begins
And I feel safe to dwell therein.
