SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER

With the weekend coming on,
 that old question did arise ...
What to do and where to go ...
 what would our dollars buy?

I rummaged through the closet 
and found some togs long stored!
Aha, with these we'd have
 no chance of being bored.

The big night came
 and our glad rags we did wear ...
Neath sparkling lights 
that disco beat did blare.

Granted it may have taken 
a wee drop of some libation 
But we were long overdue
 for this kind of liberation!

If, by chance, 
you believe this dance to be true...
Why then what you'd see 
were two old fools turning blue!

While we are the perfect couple
 in almost every way ..
When it comes to dance,
 when I move right, he goes that-a-way!

While in our dreams, 
we'd love to jump and jive ...
Fact is, come Saturday, 
we're busy just stayin' alive!
